Li Xiaomeng delivered a speech

Li Xiaomeng pointed out in his speech that over the years, thanks to the joint efforts and strong support from government departments, the three major nuclear power groups, and Tsinghua University, the TUNEM project has achieved remarkable results and earned high recognition from all partners, establishing a solid bridge for cooperation and exchange in the nuclear energy field between China and other countries, as well as an important link for mutual learning and cultural exchange. He encouraged all graduates to maintain close connections with China and Tsinghua University after returning home—deepening their expertise by applying the professional skills acquired during their two years of study at the university to advance their country’s nuclear energy development, while also actively serving as messengers of communication to promote greater understanding and deeper practical collaboration between China and other nations.

Sun Fu delivered a speech

Sun Fu first extended his sincere congratulations to all graduates on successfully completing their studies and graduating. He encouraged the students to apply their knowledge in the future, deepen their contributions to China's nuclear power industry, and help advance the global nuclear energy sector steadily. He recalled how they once took pride in participating in the TUNEM project, and expressed hope that the project would one day take great pride in their outstanding achievements. He also stated that Tsinghua University will always be a warm home for all its alumni, and warmly welcomed them to return often for exchanges and reunions.

Subsequently, representatives from the three major nuclear power groups—China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), and China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN)—took turns delivering speeches on stage.

Qin Yuanzhen of CNNC extended warm congratulations to all TUNEM students on their successful completion of the program and graduation. The graduation ceremony not only signifies the culmination of their academic journey but also marks a pivotal new beginning for their professional careers. She urged graduates to embrace the industry’s mission, stay at the forefront of nuclear power innovation, contribute meaningfully to national nuclear energy development, and honor the dedication and expertise cultivated throughout their studies.

Cheng Xiaohong of SPIC extended congratulations to all graduates who have successfully completed their studies at Tsinghua University. She urged the students to always maintain a grateful heart, remember the strong support provided by their families, teachers, and peers throughout their academic journey, and serve as friendly bridges connecting people and governments across countries in the future.

Yang Bin of CGN congratulated the graduates on completing their academic path and reaching an important milestone in life. He expressed his hope that after graduation, the students would join hands to meet challenges in the energy sector, seize opportunities for industrial growth, and make contributions to the global development of nuclear power.

This year marks the eighth cohort of graduates from the Tsinghua TUNEM program. Upon completion of the program, the majority of graduates return to their home countries to pursue careers in nuclear energy and broader energy sectors, where they apply the advanced theoretical knowledge and hands-on expertise cultivated through rigorous academic training at Tsinghua University and structured industry immersion with China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), and China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN). In doing so, they advance global efforts toward carbon neutrality and strengthen long-term energy security.
