On the afternoon of June 26, 2026, the annual meeting of the Joint Committee and the Training Guidance Committee for the Tsinghua University Nuclear Power Engineering and Management International Talent Training Master's Program (TUNEM) was successfully held in Room 102 of Liuqing Building. Representatives from the National Energy Administration and the three major nuclear power groups attended the meeting, including Li Xiaomeng, Deputy Director of the China Nuclear Power Development Center; Huang Jinyang, Deputy Director of the General Affairs Division of the Center; Sun Fu, Director of the Graduate Training Office, Tsinghua University Graduate School; Qin Yuanzhen, Deputy Director of the Talent Division, Human Resources Department, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC); Cheng Xiaohong, Deputy Director of the International Business Department, State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC); Yang Bin, Senior Manager of the International Business Department, CGN Engineering Co., Ltd.; Researcher Ma Tao, Vice Dean of the Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology, Tsinghua University; Professor Huang Wenhui, Dean of the Department of Engineering Physics(DEP); Professor Yang Yigang, Deputy Dean of the Department of Engineering Physics and Program Director of the TUNEM Program; Researcher Yu Jiyang, Head Teacher of the TUNEM Program;. Professor Yang Yigang, project director of TUNEM and deputy head of the Department of Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University, delivered a summary report on the TUNEM Project's achievements over the past decade (2017–2026). The report reviewed the project’s substantial accomplishments in areas such as student recruitment, education, industry-university collaborative talent development, and international exchange and cooperation. It highlighted that the project’s success over the past ten years has been made possible by strong support from the National Energy Administration, the Ministry of Education, and the three major nuclear power groups, and expressed hope for continued deepening of development efforts in the next decade to achieve even more landmark outcomes.

Yang Yigang presented a report
Sun Fu, Director of the Training Office at Tsinghua University Graduate School, highly praised the achievements of the TUNEM program in his speech, describing its educational model as remarkably successful and pioneering—a benchmark that few similar programs within the university can match. He stated that the Graduate School will fully support the renewal of the agreement, cooperate to complete all approval and signing procedures, and continue providing comprehensive support for the program's development.

Representatives from the three major nuclear power groups introduced their respective involvement in the project. Qin Yuanzhen, Deputy Director of the Talent Division, Human Resources Department, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), stated that the TUNEM project serves as a benchmark for international integration of industry and education, laying a solid talent foundation for the group's expansion into overseas markets and enhancing its global industry influence. She emphasized that CNNC will continue to fully support the long-term development of the TUNEM project.
Cheng Xiaohong, Deputy Director of the International Business Department at State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), noted that the company has consistently invested resources over the years to support the training of international students. This year, SPIC signed a new strategic cooperation agreement with Tsinghua University, making the TUNEM project a significant milestone in their collaboration. The company fully recognizes the long-term strategic importance of cultivating nuclear talents for international markets and will continue to deepen comprehensive cooperation with the project.
Yang Bin, Senior Manager of the International Business Department at CGN Engineering Company Limited, pointed out that there is strong demand for nuclear professionals in overseas markets. The TUNEM project enjoys high international recognition, playing a crucial bridging role in exchanges between Chinese nuclear enterprises and their overseas counterparts. He highly commended the outstanding training outcomes and expressed strong appreciation for the project’s remarkable achievements in nurturing international nuclear talents.

Li Xiaomeng, Deputy Director of the China Nuclear Power Development Center, delivered a concluding speech in which he fully affirmed the achievements of the project over its ten-year development. He praised the project's forward-looking strategy and highlighted how all parties maintained cooperation during the industry's early stages—having sustained operations for a decade and ultimately earning broad recognition across the sector, an outcome particularly remarkable compared to many similar projects that were discontinued midway. Currently, all partners have reached consensus on renewal and will jointly embark on a new decade of development. Supported by the national medium- and long-term nuclear power development plan, the industry continues to unlock growth opportunities, and the project’s international influence is steadily expanding. All stakeholders express strong confidence in the project’s future prospects.

Representatives from the China Nuclear Power Development Center, the three major nuclear power groups, and Tsinghua University engaged in extensive discussions on the agreement regarding the TUNEM project’s future development. All parties reached broad consensus and will continue to work collaboratively to ensure the continued success of the TUNEM project.
