In the afternoon of November 21th, Prof. Leonidah Kerubo, Ag. DVC Research, Innovation and Enterprise, Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology in Kenya, and Prof. Elija Mwangi, Director, Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology, accompanied by relevant representatives of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), visited Department of Engineering Physics to conduct exchanges on talent cultivation in the nuclear field. Prof. Yang Yigang, Deputy Dean of the Department of Engineering Physics, and 4 Kenyan students from the TUNEM program jointly participated in the reception.
Prof. Zeng Zhi, Head of the Department of Engineering Physics, had a brief meeting with the Kenyan delegation. Prof. Yang Yigang accompanied the delegation from the University of Nairobi (Kenya) and representatives of CNNC to visit the building of the Department of Engineering Physics.

Following the visit, the two parties conducted an in-depth discussion. Prof. Yang Yigang first presented an overview of the Department of Engineering Physics of Tsinghua University, along with the integrated talent development system for undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs in the nuclear science and technology discipline. He further delivered a comprehensive briefing on the TUNEM program, elaborating on its establishment background, core distinctive features and tailored arrangements for student life.
Prof.Yang Yigang emphasized that as an international master's program jointly supported by the National Energy Administration and the Ministry of Education, and co-developed and implemented by Tsinghua University, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) and China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN), the TUNEM program is firmly dedicated to advancing global energy security and facilitating the achievement of carbon neutrality. He extended a sincere and warm welcome to students from Kenya and other countries around the world to study in the program.

She commended China’s remarkable achievements in the nuclear power industry and nuclear discipline education in recent years. She emphasized that she intends to take this visit as a pivotal opportunity to gain an in-depth insight into China's proven experience in nuclear energy talent cultivation and expressed her earnest expectations that Tsinghua University would lend robust support to talent development in Kenya's nuclear sector.

Subsequently, Prof.Yang Yigang and delegation engaged in in-depth and constructive discussions and exchanges and further explored potential avenues for future cooperation.
Through this event, both parties have achieved an in-depth mutual understanding, thereby laying a solid foundation for more extensive and in-depth cooperation in the future.
