A cultural exchange event was launched virtually marking the third Dandelion Program-Cultural Exchange Series was initiated successfully on 14 April 2022 at 16:00 to 17:00. The third sharing session of the cultural exchange series was entitled “Nuclear Energy Organizations in the world and the future of nuclear engineering.”

Knollis Delle, a TUNEM 2021 freshman from the Republic of Ghana, talked about the African Nuclear Energy and Nuclear Engineering Business Trends Commission. In particular, he detailed the nuclear technology, which is one of the most important alternative energy sources in electricity production, for Africa. He detailed the commissions throughout Africa. He presented and brought together the practices and organizations that have been made so far. He also shared his own ideas about the future of nuclear engineering.

In addition, Enes Araci, a freshman of TUNEM 2021 from Turkey, introduced nuclear reactors and nuclear organizations to the audience. He gathered the orators virtually to share about their ideas of nuclear engineering in the future and nuclear foundation. Besides, he made important statements about the future of nuclear engineering and introduced his own ideas as well.

The second speaker of the session, Enes Araci (left) shared the facts of nuclear power.

Enes Aracı also said and explained the future of nuclear electricity is inextricably linked to nuclear engineering. Nuclear power is here to stay; nuclear engineers will be required at every stage of the nuclear power plant life cycle, from licensing through decommissioning. Furthermore, nuclear engineering is linked to both fission and fusion nuclear power. Fission and thermal nuclear power plants have been the focus of nuclear engineering education for the past 70 years.

There will be 16 more events to be held in a row. By organizing the cultural exchange event, we aim to develop mutual understanding between different countries and cultures around the world and ultimately to develop the global competencies of all TUNEM students.
